Instructions:

  1. A general rule is to use 500ml of water for every 10 grams of agar powder. This is enough solution for 20+ plates.
  2. Optionally add 12g of LME or other nutrient.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent it from burning or sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  4. Once boiling, and the powders have fully dissolved add to media bottles and pressure cook for 45 minutes.
  5. Once the pressure cooker has cooled remove the media bottles, they're shelf life should be indefinite.
  6. To pour agar heat the mixture in a microwave to over 65 Ā°CĀ to melt and pour once the solution has cooled to 65 Ā°C

Note: Always follow proper sterile technique when making and handling agar petri dishes to avoid contamination.
